In 2020, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) updated the BNA® Master Plan, paving the way for the development and completion of numerous transformative projects under the airport’s first expansion program, BNA® Vision, including:
- Concourse D and Terminal Wings project
- A unified and reimagined Grand Lobby with an enhanced TSA security checkpoint and the BNA® Marketplace
- A state-of-the-art International Arrivals Facility (IAF)
- An on-site hotel, Hilton BNA®

What is an Airport Master Plan?
An Airport Master Plan is a study that follows a regimented process defined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The purpose of the Airport Master Plan is to identify short-term and long-term needs of the airport, tenants, users and the community. The data collected is used to develop a strategy to guide growth over the next 20 years.
What is Included in the Update to the BNA® Master Plan?
The Master Plan process will examine forecasted passenger and operations growth at BNA, evaluate the capacity of existing and planned facilities and identify solutions to meet future demand. This effort will establish a clear development roadmap for BNA through 2047.

- Airport Layout Plan (ALP): A series of drawings that visually depict proposed development concepts.
- BNA® Master Plan technical report: A detailed document explaining the data, analysis and reasoning behind those concepts.
